Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Here are some pictures from the party. They had a blast. Thank you to everyone that helped and brought items to decorate cookies with!!! One student said "Can this day get any better?" So I think it was a hit!

We are learning about goods and services for the next few weeks! Here are the piggy banks they made to put their money they have been earning.  Ask them about how they are earning their money!

We are very thankful for our families and everything they do for us!! 

I am sure you could fill your plate with things you are thankful for too!!

We are writing thank you cards to educators this week for National Education Week. They are such great writers!!

In this card, they wrote : This note is for you Thank you fro helping me read and read the are hard. You are the bestest teacher.

In this card they wrote: Thank you for helping us in computer lab!

We learned about perimeter this week and how we need shelter to live. These are the shelters they created, while learning about perimeter.

On Halloween we read poems to Dr. Buechler's class! They even made up their own poem!!

Another fast week of learning...

We focused on Fall this week...

What a crazy week!! It was water week and we learned about how water can change from a liquid to a solid and a gas. We made popsicles and learned what a humidifier actually does. We also had centers for the first time. The most popular center was the sink and float center!

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!!

There will be no Kindergarten on these dates:

October 26th- The rest of the Kindergarten classes have conferences that day, but my conferences will be with the rest of the elementary's conferences.

October 31st- Early Out and only afternoon Kindergarten classes will attend.

Early Out (12:30) Sept. 26th

The kindergarteners will come to school during their regular hours. There are no busses for kindergarten at 11:30. Only bus kids may stay and eat lunch and ride the bus at 12:30. If your child that rides the bus is going to eat school lunch you will need to send $1.90 or mark below that they will use their siblings account. They can bring their own lunch.

This note was sent home. Please use this as a reference.

Reading Logs

Here is some information about the reading log that is sent home.

Reading Logs

Thank you for reading with your children. Please read any book with them and write it in their reading log. Please send the reading log to school everyday. Also if I send home a sheet that has simple sentences and a picture to go with the sentence you can write down the number that is on the top of the sheet in the reading log. They should be able to read these to you.

Once they have read 10 books for the month I will send a free pizza certificate home with them. On October 1^st please start using the October sheet in the reading log.

We finished our I am Famous project. This was a good way to get to know the students. They loved finding out why they were famous!!!

Our first mystery reader came today. She liked to play basketball when she was young. She has a great big flower garden at her house. She can speak spanish. She works at the school and she drives a yellow car.
